Ethan is very, very good at his job. Still, when the MacTavish Mafia Chieftain tells him to go fetch runaway Sloan Masters, the directions from the girl's father are, "If you can't bring her back, unalive her." Ethan does not hurt women. Ethan does find Sloan, under a false name and participating in an auction at a high-end s*x club. But the thing I enjoyed the most was the love of family and how it drew these two together and humanized them. This is a wonderful mafia tale, and made even better because it's got insanely hot men in kilts. Five stars, baby! A man who is equally skilled at handling a plane crash and caring for his deathly ill beloved. Ethan has got to be the most competent man in Scotland. 3. An auction at a high-end s*x club. (Though maybe think of something else when the kids ask for your meet-cute.) 4. Evil villains who absolutely deserve what's coming to them. 5. A courageous heroine who will endure anything to protect her little brother. How it all comes together is half the fun, but plan on a late night, because this isn't one of those books you can put down and finish later. Ethan's the MacTavish clan "finder of lost things and people." When he's set after runaway Sloan Masters, his instructions from her stepfather are to unalive her if he can't extract her. This doesn't sit well with the MacTavishes. He tracks her down at The Auction, a s*xy auction meant for one night together. He has to purchase her for one hundred million pounds. You read that right. While Sloan thinks it's just for one night, Ethan obviously has other plans and kidnaps her. I loved the extremely creative and outrageously hot smut. I loved the humor. I loved how these two come together, and when a girl who's longing for family suddenly has a giant one in the form of the MacTavishes, you know there's a happy ending here. So loveable. So very hot.
