Introduction: The Light in the Storm "I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth." — Genesis 9:13 The rainbow has always been God's symbol of mercy after judgment—an arc of color suspended between heaven and earth, light refracted through tears. In the days of Noah, it appeared when the waters of wrath had subsided, and a promise of peace emerged from the storm. The almond blossom , the first to awaken after winter (Ecclesiastes 12:5; Numbers 17:8), reminds us of the promise of resurrection—the swift and faithful return of life from apparent barrenness. In the tabernacle, these flowers adorned the golden lampstand (Exodus 25:33), a prophetic echo of the Light of the World who would rise again. Color and bloom are not incidental in Scripture; they are part of God’s poetry. The garments of the High Priest gleamed with stones of many hues (Exodus 28:17–20), the bride of Christ is clothed in fine linen, bright and pure (Revelation 19:8), and the New Jerusalem radiates with every gemstone under heaven (Revelation 21:19–20). Each shade and shimmer tells a story—not only of beauty, but of blood, fire, light, and glory.
