Bubba’s Bounce Back is a deeply personal story born from my personal journey to help my son navigate a world that often feels overwhelming. Created as a response to two years of struggling with daily childhood anxiety, this book fills a gap for families who feel they are navigating a "new normal" without enough relatable resources. The story follows Bubba as he faces the daunting challenges many anxious children know too well: the heavy weight of a school drop-off, the difficulty of communicating big feelings to peers, and the isolating experience of having a "meltdown" under the gaze of others. Through Bubba’s journey, the book brings much-needed awareness to what childhood anxiety actually looks like—it’s not just "shyness," but a physical and emotional hurdle. Why This Book Was Created: • To Validate the Struggle: To show parents and children that they aren't alone in those tough morning drop-offs or the feeling of being "watched" during a hard moment. • To Provide Real Tools: It shares the specific, practical coping mechanisms—like the "Flower and Candle" breathing and the "Heart Sticker" emotional anchor—that offered a lifeline to the author’s own son. • To Normalize the "Tough Days": It authentically mirrors the reality that healing isn't a straight line. Even with the right tools, there are still hard days, but there is always the strength to put a "best foot forward." • To Build Empathy: By personifying anxiety as a tiny character, the book helps teachers and other parents understand that the child isn't "acting out"—they are simply learning to manage a heart that beats a little faster.
